Wing Chun International The Team
Wing Chun International
Welcome to Wing Chun International, the Team who are working hard each and every day to develop the Wing Chun International Brand throughout the United Kingdom.
Master Andrew Cameron 8th Level Grand
Master Head of Wing Chun International
When I began my martial arts training almost 35 years ago, I could have never imagined then the powerful impact martial arts would have on my life. The obvious benefits of martial arts training are learning self-defence skills that protect you and enhance physical fitness. But there’s so much more to it than that.
Wing Chun develops the whole person. Children and Adults find their martial arts training teaches them important life skills - a new sense of empowerment that extends past the physical maneuvers of self-defence. Our students develop the confidence and self-esteem it takes to “Stand-Up” and face life head on, seeking new challenges and persevering when times get tough.
Wing Chun International Schools provides a place for you to develop your body and mind while instilling traditional moral values like integrity, respect and perseverance that’s refreshing and much needed today more than ever.
Whatever your reasons for considering Wing Chun for yourself or your child, you’ll find we have a variety of programmes to meet your needs. You don’t have to be a certain type of person to be a successful and valued Wing Chun member. No matter what your skill level, our goal is to help you become the best you can be and to “Stand-Up” for yourself and for others.
“May the spirit of Wing Chun lead you in a path where courtesy, respect, loyalty and integrity guide your thoughts and actions, bringing balance and harmony to you and everyone you meet.”
Head of Wing Chun International United Kingdom
Sifu Scott Rowlinson 4th Technician Grade
Sifu Scott Rowlinson began his journey in Wing Chun Kung Fu following a friends recommendation that he should look at trying the Art, Looking back and remembering that very first class with Master Andrew Cameron in an Old Church in the Pantiles of Tunbridge Wells, Sifu Scott recalls it was exactly what he had been looking for since starting his Martial Arts Journey, Being introduced to Master Andrew Cameron in 1992 was a life choice that he has never regretted and constantly looks back on as he reflects on his life to date.
Sifu Scott Rowlinson Started his Martial Arts training at the age of 6 when his father took him along to a Judo class, his Father had been a keen Judo Practicianor for many years and as with most children was always being keen to follow in his fathers foot steps, many classes followed and Sifu Scott has many great memories of those early days and they truly inspired him to continue his journey in Martial Arts, His Judo classes finished after coming to a natural end when his father couldnt take him on a regular basis.
In his early teens and as he could now get around town on his own rather than relying on his parents decided to start his Karate training, The instructor that he found was Sensi Bernard Creaton who taught in a hired hall in Downswood, Maidstone, Sifu Scott trained as hard as he could until the age of 16 but always felt that there was something missing from this training.
His main reason for starting Martial Arts was to raise his self confidence and override the growing fear of bullying that was becoming more evident as he grew up, A very memorable point of why he finished his Karate Training was being told that you were not allowed to hit anyone as this may hurt them, this did not make sense to a young boy who was being hit by bullies and was being educated not to hit back, at that age with no answer to that point he decided to look for the answer else where.
Following Karate and watching many movies Sifu Scott found the Westree Boxing club in Maidstone, Sifu Scott recalls Boxing really opened his eyes to confronting fear, standing in front of another person who was prepared to hit you hard, this really started to change his mentality and was a great foundation to becoming a young man in his late teens, being completely honest though this did not answer the question, simply going from one extreme to the other did not answer the question that was still in his mind and believing that there was a Martial Art out there that was complete and that would satisfy all of the answers that one person might have to enhance his or her life was still waiting to be found!

Since graduating university Daniel had been looking for a martial arts class, and found Wing Chun international thanks to the recommendation from a friend. Daniel quotes "I had been looking for something to give me more focus and discipline and help with my personal development, i had been interested in martial art from a young age having dabbled in judo and jujitsu in school, but with studying at college and university had not had the chance to pursue this passion. With Wing Chun I found something which had been missing from my life and so much more. I fell instantly in love with all aspects of the system after only one class and set my goals to master the art very soon after"
Having found a great organisation that i enjoy being part of, Daniel has decided that a life long journey in Martial Arts is a goal that he wants to instilled into his life so he has set the goal to challenge himself with the task of becoming the Wing Chun International National Trainer of London, Daniel has set his task list and whilst gaining the necessary skills is making the move to the city of London and to start the development of the Brand there.

Matthew Puckey 12th Student Grade (London Central)
Mathew joined Wing Chun International as the very first student of our London schools in early 2017, this was inspired by both of his brothers who were training with Sifu Scott Rowlinson in the Midlands region at the time, being aware that his brothers had planned on coming to London to be part of WCI thought it a great idea to follow a similar journey, After a short time of training Mathew decided to take on Wing Chun fully with the goal of mastering the art, as with many who find this Martial art Mathew fell in love with it and decided to take this as far as he can and with the guidance of Sifu Scott Rowlinson felt that there was no better time to move forward with this.
From a young age Mathew had always had an interest in martial arts, learning Judo as a boy and later Ju-Jitsu as a young adult. But after putting these aside to pursue his other passion of becoming a Graphic Designer in London, he lost touch with his martial arts. A few years into his design career he felt he wanted to build his self confidence and start something different by learning a new martial art style in the city. After a long search he was eventually introduced to Wing Chun by his brothers Daniel and Mark and quickly found out that Wing Chun Kung Fu was what he had been looking for. Mathew Quotes “Wing Chun gave me more than just self confidence and a great alternative to the gym, it gave me discipline and greater focus, changing the way I approach all aspects of life.”
Mathew was attracted to the prospects of a career in Martial Arts and so he joined the Organisation setting himself personal goals to train and learn all the necessary skills with the intent of becoming a Instructor for Wing Chun International Central London.
Christopher Pole 2nd Technician Degree (London North East)
Head of Wing Chun International South East England Region
Si Hing Jason Cooper 1st Technician Grade
Si-Hing Jason Cooper is 42 of age and throughout his working past had always felt that he was missing that certain something!
Jason Explains: After gaining my SIA Licenses back in 2012, I needed someway of dealing with issues, protecting myself, building my confidence and self esteem and looking at my future. My son had been a member of Wing Chun International for several years and he had enjoyed every minute of it. Having built a great friendship with his Instructors, Sifu Scott Rowlinson invited me in to try a lesson at the Leamington Spa School. I loved it and found myself training every available session and before I knew it I had become an Instructor myself and had made the decision to make this my future Career, after a short period of time i found myself heading out to Banbury in Oxfordshire to start Wing Chun International Banbury Location and get started.
It wasnt long before I had my 1st student and in no time the school had grown, we had a hall and also increased the amount of classes as the school was getting bigger. As time went on Sifu Scott Rowlinson asked if I would like to help him open another school in Coventry were he would take me under his wing and show me how to build a successful Martial Arts School, during this time I'd started teaching children martial arts in both the Wing Chun International Banbury school and aswell as the Wing Chun International Coventry location and now after 3 great years of growing and developing my martial arts ability Sifu Scott decided I was ready to go it alone.
Having now achieved my 1st Technician Grade i feel that all of the hard work, time and effort that i have put in so far has been with out doubt worth it and I've have never looked back so far and enjoying the thought of what the future holds for me.
Head Instructor of Wing Chun International Oxfordshire
Si Je datze Bogdane 1st Technician Grade
Datze Bogdane is our Wing Chun International Oxford-City school owner and Head instructor for the Oxfordshire County, Datze started her journey of Wing Chun in 2010 with Si-Hing Andy Watts of our Wing Chun International Northampton School. Datze says for me it was all about fulfilling my child hood dream to know a little about martial arts. Soon I realized that Wing Chun is taking on a Hugh part of my life and I found myself practising every free moment that i had.
I was taken away with all the simplicity and theory that comes with Wing Chun and it soon became my lifestyle
3 years later I started to assist in teaching children and adults classes and set myself a goal for the 1st technician grade. I achieved this goal in September 2011.
To progress within my life and my dream i decided to take the Hugh step that changed my life and in order to become a martial arts instructor i moved to Leamington Spa for more intense training to learn how to teach and manage a school of my own.
I started to manage the Oxford-City school which was originally started by Sifu Scott Rowlinson and with him by my side helping me with every step i was on my way to my new Career. Sifu Scott taught me how to run a Wing Chun martial art school and teach adults and children. I was looking after the school and learning to run it for 2 years and In March 2014 I took it on my shoulders so i can represent my achievement and to grow Wing Chun International Oxford-City into the future.
I have been running the school full time since March 2014 and i am looking forward to my first students achieving their 12th student grade this year (2015) and then moving towards their goal of becoming Wing Chun international Oxford City first ever Technician Grades.
Head of Wing Chun International South West England Region
Si Hing Simon Lazarus 12th Student Grade
Simon Lazarus started his journey with Wing Chun International Under the guidance of our Wiltshire county instructor Andreas Eliades who inpired and motivated Simon to look at a life time journey in Wing Chun, after training for around a year, Simon could see and feel just like the other instructors around him that a journey in Martial arts was one that he had to commit to for himself and Family and therefore came to the conclusion that a career in Martial arts was for him.
Asking Simon to write a little about him self he quotes "I tried Judo when I was about 10 for approximately 8 months at the Strood Sports Centre in Kent where i am origanally from, but didn't feel at this time I was enjoying it, I left and didn't continue, The seed however for Martial arts had been sown! Some years had passed and i was in my teens when situations called for me to be able to defend myself and although I've always managed to do so, it wasn't the judo techniques that i had learnt that had that helped me, I had always held the memories of being in close to these bullies and so as i was getting older started looking for Martial arts to return be back into my life, it had dawned on me to look for a martial art focussed on close quarter combat.
After moving to several areas around the country and trying a few Martial Arts it soon became clear my anxieties were peaking and causing me life problems, needed something to help with this and in 2012 I tried a Mixed Martial Art lesson, this focussed a lot on Fitness which was great but i also found that the lessons were based more around learning a specific technique to fill the time and class rather than to give me the progression and development that i was looking for, Like most i didnt feel that i was getting value for the investment that i was making into my training, rather just turning up to satify the instructor. So with still no real martial art focus, low on confidence and self esteem and to be honest anxieties at an all time high I came across the history and the teachings of Ip Man, his small size and ability was its own inspiration so I sought wing chun training in the area that i lived.... I found Wing Chun International.
Both the passion of the instructor and his ability even after the complimentary lesson had me hooked. I've not missed one lesson or grading since and love every minute of it and look forward to passing my experiance on to other in the future".
Head of Wing Chun International Swindon City
Head of Wing Chun International North West England Region
Si Hing Christopher Pole 1st Technician Grade
Si-hing Chris Pole did not have the opportunity of trying martial arts growing up as his parents could not afford extra curricular activities.
It was not until a year after college whilst looking for work that he had, had a talk with an employment advisory about his self confidence, they suggested martial arts as a way of meeting new people, developing communication skills and making new friends.
It was a few months later in February 2013 that Si-Hing Chris found work and by May of that year had an opportunity of trying a free class at our Wing Chun International Leamington Spa School with Sifu John Kelly and Si-hing Nick Holland. Chris explained that Wing Chun International offered a lot of opportunities to build the skills he had been looking for and enrolled to start his journey within Martial Arts.
It was not long before Si-Hing Chris had decided to set his goals within Martial Arts a little higher and started to train harder, attend more classes and make a move towards completing the goals that he had set himself each month.
By June 2014 Sifu Scott Rowlinson returned to full time teaching and began weekly private training and setting goals for Chris to take his first Technician Grade. He also began learning and participating in the kids classes with the goal of becoming an instructor.
As of January 2015 Si-Hing Chris decided to take a massive step in his journey of Wing Chun and Martial arts and took over the reigns as Head instructor of our Wing Chun International Coventry School, With the knowledge and assistants given by Sifu Scott Rowlinson Si-Hing Chris has gained his first 10 students in the first 3 months of 2015 and is set for a great future as one of the many Instructors of Wing Chun International. Chris Continues to Contribute to both the Leamington Spa and Coventry schools whilst developing his own technical skills and instructing and is eager to help others along that path too.
Head of Wing Chun International North East England Region
Matthew Fellows 12th Student Grade
Si-hing Matthew Fellows developed an interest in martial arts from a young age, where he was trained by his Dad in Lau Gar. Unfortunately this remained nothing more than an interest for some years as his parents were unable to afford to send him to structured classes.
Upon leaving school Matthew joined the Royal Navy, this was a time consuming career choice and so left little time for past hobbies. Matthew left the Navy in 2010 after a tour of Afghanistan to pursue a career in engineering.
After a couple of years of readjusting to life outside the military he found Wing Chun International. He had spent some time researching different martial arts and knew Wing Chun was the style he wished to take up. Matthew was first introduced to Wing Chun International and Wing Chun in 2012. From here his interest in the system grew.
In 2016 Matthew took the step from a student to a trainee instructor, knowing it was a career path he could really enjoy. He spent time with Si-Hing Oskar Filipiak working on the East of England region and training on a daily basis. A change in Matthew's life took him away from the East and into the North East where he gladly accepted the post of Head Instructor for the North East and is looking forward to buidling this region with in Wing Chun International.
Head of Wing Chun International East of England Region
Oskar Filipiak 12th Student Grade
Oskar started his martial arts journey when he was ten years of age in the discipline of Judo and continued with this for seven years. Sihing Oskar had a passion to find a suitable art for his journey and along the way dedicated a part of his life to becoming a professional footballer, swimmer and Judo practitioner, eventually discovering Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Meeting Sifu Andy Watts from Wing Chun International Northampton was a huge turning point in his career and it wasn't long after that he got completely engrossed in the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu, with it's effectiveness, simplicity, and very applicable street fighting solutions decided Wing Chun was the art for him. Now devoting all of his time into his own training, teaching and the development of his region in the East of England under Wing Chun International he has many Wing Chun schools focused on helping students gain the benefits that he has seen and he strives every day to continue his excellence in martial arts.
Sihing Oskar continues his journey as a multi skilled martial artist devoted to his work and students. As a full time istructor Oskar teaches up to seven days a week through private tuition and regular classes for both adults and children.
Head of Wing Chun International Birmingham Region
Simon Dommett 12th Student Grade
Sihing Simon Dommett first started his Wing Chun journey in 2012 as a fitness routine during the rugby off-season, What started as a twice a week fitness routine very quickly became a passion.
Sihing Simon has always been into sports, he started playing rugby at the age of 4 and grew up watching his uncles do Tug-of-War. At the age of 13 he joined a Tug-of-War team and was a regular in both the adults and under 18's team, when he was 14 he captained both the U18's and Adults side. In 2000 he was asked to represent England in an International Tug-of-War competition in South Africa, unfortunately he had to turn down this opportunity due to lack of funding.
Sihing Simon had a day job as a delivery driver and was quickly promoted to warehouse & transport manager. As hard as he tried, the hours kept building along with the stress of the job and having a young family at home. This was the start of a downward spiral that not only affected him but also his wife and sons. In 2015 Sihing Simon met Sifu Scott Rowlinson who began explaining how to become an Instructor and change the life that he had into a lifestyle for him and his family.
2015 marked the turning point in his life, and Sihing Simon opened his first Wing Chun class in Rugby. The more Sihing Simon taught his Rugby class the more he enjoyed it and the more his confidence grew, as did his ambitions. 2016 saw Sihing Simon give up his day job to become a full time Instructor and open up 4 more classes, going into 2017 Sihing Simon is responsible for the growth and developement of Wing Chun International in the Birmingham Region of the UK and has plans to see many more schools open within this Region whilst showing others how a career in Martial Arts is something not to be missed.
